For this Makeup Mondays the focus is all about putting your best face forward when it comes to your boudoir shoot. Who knew that getting naked would take so much damn work, but it does so why not have the best tips and tricks at your disposal.
My first tip is to have a professional makeup artist do your makeup
Most studios who offer boudoir services also have either an in house MUA (like myself) or they have a list of beauty pros in the area that they can refer to you. Keep in mind that there may be an additional charge for this but it’s worth it. Nothing is worst than spending all this time, energy and effort only to receive photos where it looks like you have nothing on.
Second make sure you are using professional products
Just to piggy back off my first tip, even if a ‘pro’ MUA is doing your makeup if he/she isn’t using professional products then it’s all done in vain. We now live in a world of HD so everything is showing up on camera so high quality products are a must when shooting. My favs are of course Makeup Forever’s HD foundation as well as MAC’s Face & Body foundation, flawless application and they both look stunning on camera.
Don’t be afraid of lashes
So many times women have come into their boudoir shoots, never worn eyelashes and have to be talked into them. One thing to keep in mind is that the lights used in photography will definitly wash out any lashes that you have which is why the falsies are an absolute must. Nothing is sexier than full lush sexy lashes and a smokey eye.
Don’t be afraid of anything new
This is the perfect time to to bring out your inner vixen and try that red lipstick that you’ve always wanted to do. Remember everything about a boudoir shoot is sexy and personal so if you’ve never done a smokey eye now is the time. Just think of how excited your significant other will be to open a box with those sexy eyes looking back!
Be sure to check out our portfolio of Boudoir clients as well as our preferred vendors so you can book your boudoir shoot. Until next time B Beautiful everyone!
